EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: See attached. Dropped back to PHP 7.0 and works fine. Suspect a PHP options set incorrectly but I cannot find a list of necessary options and their setting.

Hello,

this means that your 7.1 PHP version doesn't have the MySQLi module installed or enabled.
You have to ask your host to enable that module for version 7.1 as well.
