Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

When trying to upgrade Akeeba Backup from version 6.2.1 to 6.3.1 via the Joomla update section it failed and gave me a "Warning : Update path does not exist" & "Error updating COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_TYPE_" error message.

CAn you kindly advise what might have went wrong and what actions I need to take?

Thank you.

Hello,

updates are handled directly by Joomla, our code is not running yet.
If you manually try to upload the package, does it work? I suspect there could be a connection error or a permissions issue.

Hello Davide,

Firstly, can you kindly remove the attached screenshot from my original post as I didn't take notice it was going to be a public visible post.

In the meantime I've performed some additional testing and noticed that if I upgrade to J3.9.1 first and then try to update Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools, it works fine.

I'm suspecting there is a DB change from 3.8.13 to 39.1 which is causing this issue.

Can you confirm this?

As far as I know, nothing special has been changed.
I suspect you could have a corrupted install of Joomla: updating fixed it, so you could update Akeeba, too.

Davide,

Never the less, at least I've got a workaround. Thanks for the input - please close this ticket.

Thank you.
