Hi there,

We want to migrate our old 1.5.26 website to 3.x. To do that we made and backup to an development server and did the migration . Regarding the setup on the production site: can we copy a new backup form the 3.x site to the production site and the let Akeeba do the installation of the backup? Or do we have to delete the old site and us Kickstarter?

Thanks for helping out in advance!

Kind regards,
Jan

In this case, with multiple Joomla! version changes, you need to delete the files on the live site and manually drop the tables. This is not required for a normal restore, just when you're jumping versions of Joomla!.
