Description of my issue:

Hi, This is a long shot, but thought I'd ask....

I have a client who has an old (but important) classic ASP site, still functioning well. It is on a Windows Plesk server, that also offers PHP and MySQL. With our current account it isn't possible to transfer Backups to offsite (e.g. DropBox or Amazon S3). I was wondering that if I installed a base Joomla site with Akeeba, could it be configured to do a back up of their site, including the MS SQL Server database?

thanks,
Geoff

You could back up the files by using the site root override feature in a new backup profile. However, we have recently dropped support for non-MySQL databases which means you can't back up the site's database. On top of that, even if it was possible, restoring the site would require running a PHP script which is kinda counter-intuitive for an ASP classic site.

So I will go with "no, please don't try it".
