Please look at the bottom of this page (under Support Policy Summary) for our support policy summary, containing important information regarding our working hours and our support policy. Thank you!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue: Upon receiving warnings in Joomla that PHP7.1.x was nearing EOL, I upgraded the server yesterday to 7.3.x.

Since the upgrade, I've started experiencing backup issues. (Log attached for one site which failed). One of the Akeeba messages I received was:

Please try setting min execution time to 1, max execution time to 10 seconds (or if the PHP timeout is less than 10 seconds, use 75% of the PHP timeout), runtime bias 75%

I did as the message says, but it failed to remedy the issue.

I also got a message about Akeeba needing 16Mb to do a backup, but it found only 15.89Mb. Not sure what setting this is referring to (assume it's in php.ini which I have access to if it needs editing).

Interestingly, not all sites are failing.

Please note that Akeeba Backup is fully compatible with PHP 7.3. In fact, since Akeeba Backup 6.4 we are developing it on PHP 7.3 (it is also tested on PHP 7.2 and 5.6 before release but the main version we use to develop it is 7.3).

I suspect that there is a configuration change between your PHP 7.1 and 7.3 environment. Can you please ZIP and attach the backup log file from a failed backup so I can better understand what is going on?

Morning Nicholas

Having used Akeeba for a long time now, and knowing the quality of your programming, I had no doubt it was compatible with the latest version of PHP. And my apologies, I was sure I'd attached a file to the original post. Here's the one I thought I'd attached yesterday.

Here's another log from a backup which just failed.

Try this one for the attachment.. last upload failed due to non alphanumeric characters.

Go to Akeeba Backup, Configuration. Click on the Configure button next to the Post-processing row. Look at the chunk size. It's currently set to 100MB which is way too big for your site and won't work. Set it to 10MB. Click on Save & Close.

Remember, the chunk size is how much of a big archive file you want to transfer in one go. It does not affect the part file size or the number of part files.
