In AkeebaBackup profiles I prefer to use the "macro" type of directory names, like [DEFAULT_OUTPUT] or [SITEROOT]/customdirectory. This makes it easier to transfer a profile to another site.

However, I noticed that sometimes this type of directory notation sometimes gets "reset" ton an actual path when saving the profile. Unfortunately I cannot find out under which cirsumstances this will happen. I am talking of editing and saving the profile on the same site; no transfer to other sites involved.

Is this an issue that is know to you?

Hello,

I just spoke with Nicholas about this. He told me:
It's an implementation detail

The default path is [DEFAULT_OUTPUT]

If it has not been overridden it will show the full patch but revert to [DEFAULT_OUTPUT] when saving

That is because when we are saving the profile we are reverse replacing the platform variables.

So don't worry, they are always stored as "macro", even if you see the full path.

Hi Davide,

Thanks for your reply. I understand that it is working as expected, although it may look a bit different.

Good to know.

Kind regards
