Google Drive has the ability to "chunk" your backup archive into small parts in order to work around the PHP time limits involved. The FTP protocol does not have the ability to break down the archive, it is trying to upload a 2 Gb part all at one time. With FTP, the upload has to be completed within on PHP time limit period. It isn't going to work with a 2 Gb file.

You can reduce the part size of the archive by going to Configuration, on the Archiver Engine line, click Configure. You can see the Part size for split archive currently set to 2000. You will need to set it much lower for FTP. Try 10, if that works you can try to increase it farther. That will give you a LOT of parts to your backup archive. You need all of the parts to restore the backup.

I would like to add that you were explicitly warned by yours truly about this on Monday, October 21st. As noted in my reply from Monday, the FTP and PHP limitations are documented. I've explained in the documentation why these limitations exist and why they objectively cannot be worked around.
