Description of my issue:

I would like to know if it's safe to install the latest release candidate of akeeba backup v.7.0.0rc1.

The reason is that I have TRIGGERS in my DB which cannot be restored from v.6.6.1 due a known bug.

My site is a production site and I don't get update reminder obviously because the v.7.0 is not stable yet. So the question is if I can upgrade akeeba installing the RC version uploading the package from Joomla backend withour breaking anything.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Akeeba Staff
Hello,

version 7 of Akeeba Backup had three beta versions, this is the Release Candidate, which contains all the fixes we developed in previous versions.
For what is worth, our site is currently using Akeeba Backup beta 3. I think Nicholas created a Release Candidate instead of a new version because this weekend he's out of office, and usually we avoid releasing new versions at the end of the week or when we're not full available.
If you really need the new version, you can use the Release Candidate, otherwise you can wait for about a week and get the stable version.
