Description of my issue:
Hi there,
I updated the akeeba backup pro 6.6.0 up to 7.1.0. After that, returning to the control panel I got the error message I attached. Looking through older threads I found one telling to clear the cache but that didn't work for me so that I need help now because there's no way for me backing up the site now anymore.

I think I understand what is going on.

Please go to System, Global Configuration. From the left hand sidebar choose Akeeba Backup. This takes you to Akeeba Backup's component configuration page. From the Backend tab find the Optimize JavaScript option and set it to No. Click on Save & Close. Try accessing Akeeba Backup again. Does that work for you?

If it does, please upgrade your site to Joomla 3.9. Then you can set that option back to Yes.
