Mandatory information about my setup:

PHP version: PHP Version 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.11
MySQL version: last
Host: ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64 bits
Akeeba Backup version: (unknown)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I just finish to restore all my sites on a new server . All sites are running fine, but now when I try to make a live-update for akkeeba backup I get an issue regarding permissions on tmp directory.
The tmp directory is the same as the source server from witch I migrate (/tmp under web site root), permissions is chmod 775 on this tmp dir. I have try with 777 and get the same error as bellow. I can reinstall the package without any error

"Le téléchargement du package de mise à jour a échoué. Assurez-vous que votre répertoire temporaire (tmp) est accessible en écriture"

thx

Since you don't tell me which Akeeba Backup version you have, I can only give you the generic reply. Please follow the manual update procedure: download the latest version from this site and install it on top of your existing version. DO NOT uninstall the version you have on your site. If you uninstall it, you will lose all your settings and your backups.

OK, since you have Akeeba Backup 3.3.11, there is no update. This is the latest version. It would be a bug if there were any updates shown. I do not understand what the problem seems to be?

Sorry, mistake in my subject ... about akeeba backup all seams to be fine, but it's about admin tools
I have updated Admin Tools to the last stable version 2.1.14 version and live update generates the error when I try to update to the last version through admin pannel

Aaah! Now I get it :) I would suggest not updating Admin Tools yet. The current release is an alpha, which means that it's very unstable and generally not suitable for use on live sites. When the 2.2 Stable is released, you can then retry using Live Update or, if it doesn't work, the manual installation method I just mentioned.

If even the manual installation method does not work, you can always take a look at our troubleshooter: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/abinstallation.html Most likely you have a problem with your tmp directory (e.g. it's inexistent or non writable) or you have permissions issues which can be worked around by enabling the FTP mode in your site's Global Configuration.

Hi
I have found what cause this trouble ..
I use mod_evasive module in apache to protect web server again agressive flooding.
Disabled this module, live-update is running fine.
Now I must configure this mod_evasive module to be functionning with less restrictions

thx again and hope this solution help some others ..

It was also a problem with the Live Update server not accepting any login over the last two days. Can you try enabling mod_evasive again and retry today that I have fixed that error?
