IMPORTANT! Please remember to ZIP and attach your backup log file. Without it we are unlikely to be able to help you with backup issues. Thank you!

I was preparing to transfer a site to a new server for a client.
ran a test backup and it completed successfully.

So I tried a site transfer wizard
(which normally works great on the Joomla version, I have used it many times with outstanding success)

So I am very familiar with Joomla Akeeba, long time pro subscriber.

This is the first time I am using Akeeba site resto on WordPress.

clicking the site transfer wizard button on admin panel produces blank page.
cannot proceed any further. Uninstalled / reinstalled, same issue.

Angie log analysis shows green success for each section.
log attached.

What is supposed to happen is an error page is created and immediately hidden, then you get the information page. You may get a glimpse of the error page on a slow server, that is supposed to be invisible. My impression is that you are not getting the information page, so one of those two steps is throwing an error. You aren't seeing the error, just the white page. I could not reproduce the error on my WordPress site. This is not something I can fix, I need to talk to Davide and Nicholas and they are both gone for the day.

You can accomplish the same result by taking a backup, downloading it to your local computer via FTP (in binary mode), uploading it to your target server, upload Kickstart.php (from our Download page) and execute Kickstart with www.mysite.com/kickstart.php. Kickstart will extract the site and call the restore script. If you want to do this before morning, this is our only option.

yes, I have already used the manual method but was hoping the wizard-method would work.
