Hi there,

How do I upgrade to the Pro version?

Please tell me, shall I manually upload the Akeeba files to the relevant folder in WP (following the guide mentioned below) or shall I delete the core version and the install pro version?

Yours,

Henrik

I have read many support guides, but can not find it.

More specifically, I want to upgrade or update from Akeeba Backup for WordPress Core to Akeeba Backup Professional.

I guess that I can follow the guidance in the description of how to 'You can update Akeeba Backup for WordPress manually doing the following' (from https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-solo/updating.html) -- but my situation is not exactly the same. And I want to be sure.

Of course I can delete the core version and install the Pro version, but then I loose my backups. If necessary I can do that (and of course I have downloaded the backups via FTP).

Hello,

the easiest way is to manually extract the pro version locally and then upload it using FTP.
In this way you'll have the pro version installed and you won't lose your backups.

Hi Davide,

Given your hint, I followed the detailed instructions from https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-solo/updating.html

Works perfectly!

thanks/ Henrik
