Hello. After installation of akeeba Backup for Wordpress PRO, when I try to enable plugin I get PHP Errors:

Akeeba backup for WP PRO 2.4.2:

The plugin could not be enabled because it caused a critical error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or '(' in /wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp/helpers/AkeebaBackupWP.php on line 3

Akeeba Backup for WP PRO 3.1.1:

The plugin could not be enabled because it caused a critical error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /wp-content/plugins/akeebabackupwp/akeebabackupwp.php on line 56

Do You have any suggestion what may couse it, a way to avoid this?

Hello,

it seems you are running PHP 5.3.
Akeeba Backup for WordPress requires PHP 5.4 or later in order to work. Please ask your host to upgrade your PHP version to at least PHP 5.4: there are no incompatibilities between the previous version, so you should get the new features of PHP 5.4 without issues.
