Hi there, I just bought your plugin and could do with some help.

So I'd normally make weekly full website backups and daily database backups. My questions are the following:
1. With incremental backups, is that still a good idea to do, or would incremental make this redundant?
2. If it's still a good idea, how do I create 2 Active profiles? One for full weekly backup and 1 for daily dbase backups?

Thanks!

1. You should still do that. The incremental backups only record the files which were added or modified since the last backup. If you have 90 days of incremental backups you end up having to restore 90 backups to get your site to working order which is, uh, let's say far from ideal. Having a weekly full site backup means that at most 7 backups (weekly + 6 next days' incremental backups) would need to be restored.

2. Create as many profiles as you want. Then create a scheduled backup for each backup profile with different scheduling settings. For example, I'd do a full site backup on Sundays and an incremental backup on Monday to Saturday (but not Sunday, since we have the full site backup).

Note: you should do a "Full site (incremental files)" backup on weekdays and Saturdays. Otherwise you wouldn't have a copy of the database which is problematic on its own right.

Hi Nicholas, awesome thanks for the speedy reply.

1. So create incremental and database backups daily? Do I understand that correctly? Besides the once a week full website backup. Does this make sense: http://prntscr.com/n0h6eg combined with http://prntscr.com/n0h60r. Will this do what I believe it will, daily dbase and incremental, and weekly full?

Cheers!

You can combine the incremental files and database backups into a single, easier to use, backup profile by using the backup type "Full site, incremental files". Other than that, what you did is exactly what I described :)
