I get this error SQL=SELECT COUNT(extension_id) FROM `extensions` WHERE `type` = 'plugin' AND `folder` = 'twofactorauth' AND `enabled` = '1' when i try to restore a backup.

When restoring it is imperative that you use a non-empty prefix. Likewise, if you back up a site which was erroneously set up with an empty database prefix the restoration will not work. Please note that Joomla! never supported an empty database table name prefix. Unfortunately some badly written third party installers (such as old versions of Fantastico) generated sites with an empty prefix. These sites cannot be backed up and restored as they violate Joomla! standards.

in my db a table has the name "lol_extensions". when i restore if i put the prefix "lol_" the table will be restored with the name "lol_lol_extensions".
I have managed to restore this way:
1st i have restored with a empty prefix, got to the part where it gives error. after, i go back and use "lol_" prefix and go all the way to finish with no errors. but my db is filled with both "lol_" and "lol_lol_" tables. Now where is the problem?

When you are backing up your site you must configure the prefix as lol_ Otherwise the software can't possibly know what is the prefix. Since you left it blank you made it impossible to restore it correctly.
