I hope I've just missed the correct settings..

I have a number of zip files in a folder that I want to upload to Google Drive essentially.
Currently using Akeebabackup for Wordpress and including them as part of the external files (but would be happy to use Akeebabackup Solo), but they are growing in size and I would prefer to just copy them as they are without including them in the .jpa archive I currently have.

Ideas? Workarounds? Suggestions?

Hello,

we have some transfer modes that do not compress the files, but they only support FTP or SFTP, since they are intended to be used when you want to move your entire site from a server to another.
If you want to upload them to Google Drive you can create a different backup profile and try to optimise its settings.
In the Configuration page, set the backup type to Files only and as ANGIE installer set No installer.
Then exclude all other files and folders of your "main" site.

You'll end up creating a .jpa archive, but it will be stripped to the bone including only the zip files you're interested into.

I'm planning to have over 40Gb of .zip files.. so a single archive just isn't the best.

I've played around with quite a few other methods, including some command line tools.. none are as good IMHO as Akeebabackup..

Well, I'm not sure if this counts as a feature request.. but I would love to see the option of just doing a file copy ie to remote storage like Google Drive etc.

Usually when you have such large archives they don't change very often, so you backup using a different method.
Moreover if you want to upload them you have to split them into smaller chunks, otherwise the upload process will timeout. To split them you have to create a compressed archive.

I'm sorry but your use case is a very particular one: the only solution is to create a compressed archive and upload it, there's no workaround for that.
