I have just setup SOLO for the first time and I'm happy to say it's working as expected.

I was considering running a cron to check for failed backups, but i have a few questions that I did not find in the documentation.

1. Does the failed backup cron send an email notification if a failed backup is detected? If so, I assume it uses the email settings from the system configuration?

2. Is there a way to manually create a failed backup so I can test the notifications?

Hello,

  1. There is a field in the system configuration options where you can put the email address for failed backups
  2. You can simply start a backup, then navigate away. After 3 minutes, that backup will be considered failed. Manually start the backup check cron and you should receive the notification.
