A few months ago I had need to revert to an earlier version of one of my community my websites and I just hit the Akeeba "Restore" button and the whole process worked very well. Today I had need to do it again but found that the Restore button has disappeared and that there is a video on how to do it. So presumably the Restore button is now only available in the Professional version at a cost of euros 50 which I cannot justify. I know how to do it using FTP and kickstart etc but I am surprised that you didn't warn people about the change.
I pay for the use of Admin Tools and justify it on the basis that it protects the websites every day but I can't justify the cost of Akeeba Backup Professional for a couple of sites where I might not need the facility from one year to the next.

Hello Dennis,

You are correct, the integrated restoration has been removed from the Core version and it should have never been there to begin with. The video will be amended once our third party video producer has time to fulfill our request – you really don't want me messing with Kdenlive or iMovie to do it myself. As for the advance notice, we actually did issue a news article on December 2nd. At the same time we published posts on Facebook and on Twitter (more than once). Please follow our business accounts on either platform to stay up to date. We even include images in our posts to make sure the algorithmic monsters curating your newsfeeds will consider our posts newsworthy and display them on your feed.

Regarding paying for a subscription, it's not an extra 50 Euros per year, it's 15. If you upgrade your subscription to Essentials it will be about 50 Euros for both Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools and only for the first year after you make the payment. From that point on it's a renewal price of 45 Euros for the Essentials subscription which includes both Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. Right now you pay 30 Euros per year for Admin Tools. Therefore it's an extra 15 to get Essentials.
