 Hallo,

we are reviewing our archiving / backup procedure. In the case where we delete a joomla user who has previously raised tickets, what happens to the ticket data? Is it still accessible in the backend in some way?

We are trying to answer the question what should we do if in future, an ex-user comes back to us with some query and we have to look at history. Of course, because we have Akeeba Backup, we could restore an old back up and look. But I am interested as to what might be accessible in the current site for a user who has been deleted.

Thanks, Mike

Mike,

Deleting the user would orphan the ticket data making it inaccessible. Actually, the same would happen if the user had articles or other data within Joomla!. It is better to disable the user and leave them in the system unless you are sure the user has no linked data on the site.
