Got this error when trying to upgrade my sites. Funny thing is if I use the standard Joomla updater, I have no problem at all on my other sites which are setup exactly the same.

In global configuration I use an FTP account for each site that points to that site's root. So I put nothing in the FTP path field. That works fine for everything else except CMS Updater.

So no the update failed but the site thinks it's updated to 3.4.1....except the database which is set to 3.4.0.

So my question is, how do I FORCE the site to go through update process again so I can actually complete it successfully? Or should I just restore it completely from an older backup and then try the update again (this time with the standard Joomla updater).

You can go to Extensions, Database and press the "Fix" button in the upper left to fix the database. It makes me nervous that it failed and it thinks it updated. You may want to install the update again with CMS Update. That would simply reinstall the files over what is already there. I'm worried that some files may not have been copied.

The FTP layer needs a path, it is probably assuming /.
