 Hi There

I am trying to use the update tool but received an error message during the process.

I clicked on the update button, got the download progress to 100% and then the page shows:

an error 403 access forbidden.

I moved your post to the proper section.

What version of CMS Update are you using? There was a 403 bug that was fixed two updates ago.

Hello Kahina,

we have just release a new version of Akeeba CMS Update that addresses this problem.
Please install it and try again, that should fix your issue.

Got it! For some reasons, i did not have the notification to update the component but I found it in the update list. I have now updated to 1.2.2, the issue was solved, and my Joomla update proceeded successfully.
Thanks for your assistance. Much appreciated!
