Hi guys.

I'm new to Joomla, and super new to JoomlaPack & Kickstart.

If it works the way people seem to get it to work, it's a crucial tool I need to work out asap.

What I want to do: Move my locally developed joomla site & joomla system to an external host.

My concern:

There is already a joomla site on that area.
/showroom/oldsite
/showroom/newsite
Inside oldsite is some stuff I must at no cost lose!
Inside newsite I've got kickstart.php and site-localhost-20081202-113129.zip

If I run the php file, is there any chance at all my 'oldsite' will be affected, or will the zip file just extract into the 'newsite' folder?

dlb
Kickstart will extract the contents of the backup archive to the current folder, so it will not overwrite "oldsite". But if you can't afford to lose oldsite, you should back it up and download the backup so it is safe! :D

Exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks Dale!

I'll backup and safely store the old site prior to running kickstart.
