Dear friends:

First of all thank you for this super tool. It helps a lot. I had to change the provider. Now I am trying to restore the 1.3 backup to the new server. Anyhow it is not connecting to the database. What do I wrong?

Database type: mysql
Hostname: localhost
Username: the one I choose as admin for the joomla on the old server
Password: the one I choose as admin for the joomla on the old server
Database name: the name I used when I created the new database (different to the
old databas name)
Advanced settings: drop existing settings
Table Prefix: jos_

But it is not connecting. I am going crazy being under a huge time pressure. Please help me!

Thanks to all
Jonathan

Jonathan,

Generally, JoomlaPack does not have sufficient rights to create a database on your MySQL server, only to restore tables to an existing database. You need to manually create the database before you begin the restore process. That gives you the database connection information that you need for that screen. The database connection information does not have to match the old server.

Dear Dale:

I thank you very much. The problem is resolved. Now appears a new one, the website does not start showing the following error:

jtablesession::store failed
DB function failed with error number 1054
Unknown column 'session_id' in 'field list' SQL=INSERT INTO `jos_session` ( `session_id`,`time`,`username`,`gid`,`guest`,`client_id` ) VALUES ( 'e6ba5f988dfc5cab7e11d3fca8bf07b4','1233188334','','0','1','1' )

Can you please help me?

Thank you very much.

Yours Jonathan

Jonathan,

I responded to this question in your new thread. I think we can just recreate the table, but I'm not sure. I have asked Nicholas to advise.
