Mandatory information about my setup:
Yes to all questions.
Joomla version: 1.5.23, 1.6.5, 1.7.0
PHP version: 5.2.12
MySQL version: 5.0.92
Remote Control version: 4.0.8 (for MacOS)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach the Remote Control and Akeeba Backup log files if you are reporting an Akeeba Remote Control issue, othrewise we can not help you

Description of my issue:

I have been running remote control (for MacOS) for some time and have never experienced any major issues with it in the past. Lately however, the download of the backup archive gets cut off prematurely seemingly randomly. It happens to all sites running different versions of Joomla and Akeeba Pro varying from verson 3.2.7 to the latest release 3.3.2. Backend backups with Akeeba work fine.

I have attached the latest for a site runing Joomla 1.5.23 and Akeeba 3.3.2, where the site size is over 1 GB, but the downloaded archive only approx. 70-170 MB.

Can you advise what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Christoffer

Hello Christoffer,

This is exactly why we stopped supporting Akeeba Remote Control since the months ago. The download feature can not work with large downloads. You will have to use FTP, unfortunately :(

OK, I see. Thanks. That's a real pitty that Remote Control is being discontinued. It has been a big help in administering a lot of client sites. I read that you are working on a replacement. Any idea when that can be released?

I'm done with its documentation, so the release is scheduled for when I get back to the office (I'm in Joomla! Day Chicago right now) and have cleared the support queue. Normally, that should be around Wednesday or Thursday.
