The most recent post I could find about this was over two years ago ... so perhaps there is some change and users are able to upgrade or downgrade a subscription now?

Basically, a subscriber is on plan $60 for six months

After 2 months subscriber wants more benefits/access, so wants to upgrade to $120 for 6 months. Essentially at this stage, they have consumed $20 worth of the $60 subscription.

Can the subscriber "upgrade" to the $120 plan?

Is the action simply that they start a new subscription for $120 for 6 months
..... can they somehow get a pro-rata credit of $40 automatically applied?

If not, they'd end up paying $180 for 8 months .... where if calculated it should only be $140 (the 120+20)

Just wondering how this is handled with latest releases and functionality.

Thanks heaps, Max

Max,

Subs is not my strong suit. I can tell you that is exactly how our site works. If you are half way through an Essentials subscription and you want to upgrade to Deluxe, it cancels the Essentials and starts a new Deluxe subscription and gives you a credit for the unused Essentials subscription. I can tell you it can be done, but I can't tell you how to do it. If you need help with that we'll have to get you one of the other guys when they wake up tomorrow.

Akeebasubs isn't my strong point either.

A very quick tutorial on how to set that up would be awesome Dale .... would also help others as well (maybe even go in the docs??).

I've looked in the docs, forum and everywhere and can't see this as a feature or who to do it ... so, while it's not a paid extension, would be great to reduce support and get more people using it ;)

Thanks for the reply ... look forward to some extra guidance.

All I can do is point you to the documentation at https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-subscriptions.html. There is a section on Upgrade Rules in Chapter 2.

Also, please see the article on the change in status of Akeeba Subscriptions here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/home/news/1534-the-future-of-akeebasubs.html.

Ouch .... thanks for pointing out the status update ... I was not aware.

Unfortunate a paid version, which does cover support and dev is not going to continue .... maybe a consideration for the future.

Thanks heaps.
