Hi

How do I get a refund for a subscription? I thought I was buying the ability to get support but I need support on Akeeba Subscriptions and learned that you do not provide it.

Thank you,
Dora

By subscribing you have dully agreed to our Terms of Service. A link to it was provided on the sign up page and you intentionally and without reservation ticked the checkbox with which you stated that you did read these terms.

Furthermore, both on the subscription selection page and on the subscription form itself you read the following description of the item you are buying:

One year of downloads and support for Akeeba Ticket System only.

And if you had any questions:

1. On the subscription selection page, right below the list of subscription levels, there is a big, green button reading "Compare subscriptions" which takes you to the subscription comparison page. As you can see it doesn't tell you that you get support for Akeeba Subscriptions.

2. On the Akeeba Subscriptions product page it reads in a big, blue box:

Akeeba Subscriptions is provided free of charge. However, there is absolutely no support, free or paid. It is a developers' product. Any features and customisations must be provided by you. We make sure that our software does work as described in the documentation. Any problems can be resolved by reading it. We will not accept any support requests, feature requests or proposals to hire for any work related to Akeeba Subscriptions. Thank you for your understanding.

3. If that still wasn't clear you should have asked us a pre-sales question.

As stated in the terms of service to which you dully agreed the lack of a pre-sales question and assumption of what a subscritpion level does or doesn't allow you to do is not a valid excuse for a refund. Moreover, as stated:

However, if you have already downloaded our software and/or already made use of our support services you are not eligible for a refund, even in the first 30 calendar days since your purchase, per Article 6, §3 of Directive 97/7/EC which states that the consumer may not exercise the right of withdrawal "for the provision of services if performance has begun, with the consumer's agreement, before the end of the seven working day period referred to in paragraph 1". Explicitly: when you click on a software download link or request software support from us you are giving your agreement to begin the provisioning of the software download and support service you have purchased from us, waiving all your legal rights with regards to withdrawal from the subscription contract, making you ineligible for a refund. For more information you may also want to read: http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_MEMO-11-450_en.htm?locale=en

By agreeing to the Terms of Service and making use of our support services you have waived your legal rights with regards to withdrawal from the subscription contract.

As a result our final reply is that we decline the refund per the Terms of Service to which you explicitly agreed on sign-up.

I did not intent to buy a "backup" subscription.

I have contacted my bank for a dispute.
Please close my account here since I cannot use it.

What "backup" subscription are you talking about? Seriously, you have no idea what you bought? can't you even read? You bought a subscription to Akeeba Ticket System, a support ticket system for Joomla!. Really, when your bank contacts us to dispute your chargeback request I am just going to send them a copy of this ticket which is your confession that you never bothered to check what you are buying, how much you are buying it for and what are the terms but you have the audacity to do ask for a refund after using the support service. Of course your account is terminated immediately, per our Terms of Service (and your wish, apparently).
