Hi Nick
Please do not remove this features
I just installed Jevents and it used the Swedish Collation instead of utf8_general_ci.

It helped me to fix.

Thanks
Giora

This feature is deprecated and will be removed

This feature was only really necessary for Joomla! 2.5 and earlier versions. It will be removed in a future version of Admin Tools, when we discontinue Joomla! 2.5 support. Please consult the News section of our site for information regarding Joomla! 2.5 support.

This feature has already been removed in Admin Tools 3.5.0. There is a much better way to work around that:
  • Take a backup of your site
  • Create a new database with default collation set to utf8_general_ci. You may want to ask your host how to do this.
  • Restore the backup into the NEW database.
  • Remove the OLD database.

From this point onwards all tables created in the database will inherit the default utf8_general_ci collation unless specifically stated otherwise. In the latter case please contact the developer of the software you are using and have them correct the SQL installation files of their extensions.
