Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes, the page about 404 Component Not Found error
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: 2.5
PHP version: 5.3.17
MySQL version:Β 5.0.67
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you) I am not sure what to write here
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: 3.5.2
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: 3.5.2

Description of my issue:

I had created a backup, because I was to install some updates which I suspected would interfere with some components. They did, and I therefore erased all files from my server to install from backup. Now, I get a 404 File Not Found error message.

My website is here: www.anansi.dk

It seems that I upon typing in the URL am redirected to a page that does not exist. This is weird, as I experienced no issues with running the backup process or installing the backup files.

I hope you can help!

Best regards,

Astrid

You do not have a .htaccess file on your site but you have enabled Joomla!'s SEF URLs with Apache rewrite. Look in your site's root folder with an FTP programme. If there is a file named htaccess.bak please rename it to .htaccess  . Otherwise please copy the htaccess.txt file from a fresh Joomla! installation package (downloaded from http://www.joomla.org/download.html), upload it to your site and rename it to .htaccess  .
