Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: 3.3.13
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: 3.3.2
Description of my issue:
I will make this a public ticket as it may be helpful to other search query installs.
Actually, I would like some direction regarding restoration.
I installed on subdomain and backup worked great. I then uninstalled to restore with no problem.
Question: The submain.mydomain.com will need to be moved and restored to mydoamain.com. Should I build the original Joomla install in a directory Example: mydomain.com/joomla or would it matter if it was a subdomain. I want to build in an environment with the cleanest way to restore without the possibility of errors. I also want to avoid a misconfigured website.
Also, every domain uses SSL and redirecting url to a subdomain (not even a wildcard) is allowed on the server per webhost rules. So I will need to move it back to the root unless it was installed in the directory in the root which allows redirecting.
I have the complete backup from subdomain.mydomain.com with the following backups with notes. (but I am will to do fresh install without backup in a directory if that is your advice.)
1. install joomla without sample data, akeeba, nonumber components with advance module manager
2. install components and extensions
3. install template and framework
4. install K2, RS Blog and matching plugins
At this point, no content has been added.
I appreciate any advice you have experience to recommend. I have three copies of the AkeebaBackup to do this process in seperate domains but on the same server.
