Description of my issue:

Hi there

LOVE the new S3 feature in Kickstart (awesome!), but I can't get it to work! I enter my access key and secret key (triple checked them) and just get sent to a page that says "An error occurred". Help?

Thanks so much!

This means that for some reason Kickstart can not connect to Amazon S3. This is not necessarily a Kickstart bug and, actually, it's not - I've already confirmed that it's working with other users. The most likely causes of problems are:
  • The keys you entered are incorrect (albeit this seems to not be the case here)
  • Your server does not have the PHP cURL extension installed or activated by default.
  • There's a server-side firewall which prevents the connection to Amazon S3
  • Your host lacks a valid system-wide root certificate authorities file which causes the SSL connection to Amazon S3 to fail

If you have already confirmed your keys, the next step would be contacting your host with that list of potential issues so that they can help you.
