Mandatory information about my setup:

  • I get PHP Fatal errors when trying to run Akeeba Kickstart

Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? YES, i read the entire thing...
Joomla! version: 2.5.4
PHP version: 5.2.
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: ? Local host / Data102 / 64.111.23.194/~csticonl/kickstart.php
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: i think it was 3.4.1
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: 3.6.0

Description of my issue: when i go to run the kickstart.php file i get a 500 error

Do you need Cpanel credentials?  Thank you in advance.

Kickstart ran fine, extracting the archive as it should. Either of these happens:

  • You meant Akeeba Backup Installer, not Kickstart. There's a HUGE difference. Read this, items 1 and 7 (it's on Kickstart's first page).
  • You have a problem with your browser.

In case you meant Akeeba Backup Installer please let me know. We'll have to make the ticket private so that you can give me various access info I need.

The problem was the file permissions for those who are hoping for a resolution to this thread.  Make sure that the file is owned by the user and not root.
