Description of my issue:

Simple question (I hope). I'm trying to create a completely clean installation of my sit, to run away from PHP hackers.  I've installed Joomla and all the extension and I've done a dabase backup of the current site.  I was hoping to just use the database restore part of kickstart to restore the database backup, but I can't find out how to do it. Can this be done, or do I have to adopt a different strategy?  Thanks.

There are two alternatives.

The same alternative requires some manual work. More specifically, you have to follow steps 2 through 4 of the emergency manual restoration procedure (https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/unorthodox-emergency-restoration.html).

The easy alternative goes like this:

I have tested both of them many times on my own servers (live and testing).
