MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version which took the backup: (unknown)
Kickstart version used to extract the backup: (unknown)

Description of my issue:

I have been backing up my Joomla 1.5.26 based web site using Akeeba Backup Core 3.4.3 (2012-03-21) and I have a good backup ( site-www.stjohnshollington.org.uk-20130124-185505.jpa
Part 00 ).

I have now installed Joomla 2.5.8 into a separate directory in the site root.

How do I now restore the backup file from the v1.5.26 folder ?

If I understand correctly, the root now contains a copy of the Joomla! 2.5 site. You want to replace it with a Joomla! 1.5 site. In this case, begin by deleting all files and folders (except the subdirectory with your Joomla! 2.5 site, of course!). Then restore the backup archive using Kickstart.

Do you want to restore your Joomla! 1.5 site in the /joomla directory or the site's root, i.e. the / directory?
