 Hi,

I am trying to restore my website but in final state I am getting following issue:

Finalising restoration
Updating .htaccess

See attached screenshot.

I deleted following files from FTP:
- installation/platform/steps.php and
- installation/platform/iniprocess.php
following these tickets suggestions:
- https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/akeeba-backup-3x/25214-finalising-restoration-updating-htaccess.html
But restoring issue still appear.

Please advise,
Sandra

Sandra,

That was a known problem with any Akeeba Backup for Joomla! backup archive taken with the 5.0.x series. Those two files did not belong in the Joomla! component. Once you delete those two files, the backup should restore as expected. The only thing I can think of that might prevent it is that those two files are cached somewhere and their ghosts are still messing us up. You can wait until the cache clears or try to manually clear the caches (browser, PHP, host?).

I had to have someone refresh my memory on the details of this. When you get the .htaccess message, the restore is complete. You should be able to close the window and access the site. It was trying to do one too many steps, what it was trying to do there at the end is not necessary.
