Hi,

I want to restore inside an old instalallation of joomla 2.5.28 for migration.
I Created a sub directory and created an extra database.
Moved the backupfile and kickstart files to this directory and started kickstart.
Database is extracted correctly.
Installation proces starts and I can fill all parameters.
I fill in the admin password and click next.
Then the error 500 shows up saying: ... is currently unable to handle this request.

Danny,

Is there an .htaccess file in the root of your restored site? If so, please rename it. Does that let you access the site? It will not operate right without .htaccess, I'm testing. One of the last things the install script does is rename the .htaccess file in the archive and make it active. If that old .htaccess file has an ADDHANDLER line in it or something like that which prevents the site from running, that's where you would get the error. The presence of an .htaccess file would also tell us that the restore got that far.
