We recently moved to a new server. I am attempting to restore several backups via the normal akeeba interface (not through kickstart). When I do it starts the extraction and puts the installation folder into the root of the site folder but then stops on the angie screen with the following message:

HTTP Request Error
HTTP Status: 0 (error)
Internal status: error XHR
ReadyState: 0
Raw server response:

I have also noticed that automatic backups no longer seem to complete so obviously I need to tweak some php setting somewhere in the server configs. What are the recommended settings that might affect akeeba in this way?

I have attached the log from the last attempted auto backup. I don't know where the logs are for attempted restores.

Hello,

I suspect your host is killing the backup/restore process since it's using too many resources.
Please use the following settings:
Minimum execution time: 5 seconds
Maximum execution time: 3 seconds
Runtime bias: 50%

Yes, minimum is greater than maximum, that's not a typo. In this way the process will be slower and it will use fewer resources.

For the backup, you can change these settings inside the Configuration page, for the restoration you have to do something different. You'll have to use Kickstart and tweak the settings in the Advanced section; sadly the embedded restoration script hasn't the option to change the execution time.

Let me know if this does the trick.
