Hi there,

I have a strange behaviour detected:

I made a backup of my local site and wanted to restore it on the web.

Extraction was very smooth, as usual, but when starting the installer it shows me Joomla version 2.5.0.

In fact, the Joomla!-version is 3.8.0!

Before I was wondering already, because previouis attempts have, even though I made a new backup locally, always shown (after restoration Joomla!-version 3.6.5.

This old versions do not exist on my PC and on webspace since long time.

Hope you have an idea...

Your soonest reply would be highly appreciated.

Best Regards
Hartmut

You can ignore it. There has been a change in the place where Joomla! 3.8 stores its version number. The restoration script is not aware of it and cannot find the correct version number. Therefore it defaults to displaying 2.5.0. The restored site will, in fact, be Joomla! 3.8.0 since this is what you have backed up and Akeeba Backup will not (and can not!) replace the core Joomla! files in your backup archive with anything else.
