Hi, I was copying a site to a temporary directory today, and noticed on the kickstart pre-installation screen, that in the "Site Information" section, the Joomla! version is reported as 2.5.0, yet the site is actually Joomla 3.8.1.

I did read the sentence above it, which say 'This information represents the configuration of the server you are restoring to (the server on which this installer is running).' What does that actually mean? How can the server be running Joomla 2.5.0 when the file I backed up and am kickstarting is Joomla 3.8.1?

I proceeded with the kickstart and it all worked fine, I was just wondering why it was reporting Joomla 2.5.0?

Nicola

This is just a display bug in the restoration script. When you have a Joomla! 3.8 site it will mistakenly say it's "2.5". This does not affect performance in any way.

Since this is a very low priority and purely cosmetic issue we decided to not release an out of band fix. Instead, we are focusing our effort on supporting the upcoming Joomla! 4 version and adding some other improvements.
