Hi
I backed up my site and restored it to a new clean directory to create a test environment. The admin part of the site works fine but the front-end does not. I have been using Akeeba for many years and have never had an issue doing this.

When I go to the front-end I get an error:

Akeeba Staff
Hello,

this problem is caused by a conflict between your PHP version and an extension installed in your site.
What's the PHP version of your original site? PHP 7.1 changed the syntax of a couple of operations, that would explain the error you are facing.
To identify the faulty component, please get inside Joomla Global Configuration and set the Error Reporting to Development; that should give you the exact file and line number that is causing the error.
