hi
i made several backups on different macs and had the same error on restore them on different local macs with mamp or on my webserver. Can you give me a hint, what i have to change in the configuration, or is there a problem to use akeeba backup 6.0.1 with joomla 3.8.1?

Thanks for help

regards marc

Marc,

Let's try a couple of configuration changes. In the Advanced Configuration section, check "Archive integrity check". That will do a test extract of your archive at the end of the backup process so we know if it was good then.

Next, check all of the boxes in the Optional Filters section except the first one, "Date conditional filter". This excludes some problem files like log files, etc. that can corrupt your archive.

How are you moving your backup archive from your live site to your local test servers? You should use FTP in binary mode. The binary mode is important, ASCII mode will corrupt your archive and auto mode makes your FTP client guess which one it should use.

Please le me know how you make out.

I changed settings and get this errormessage:

The following files are too big and can cause backup issues:
File: /dialog/originale.zip 186.95 Mb
File: /dialog/dialog2_02.mp3 201.64 Mb

deleting this files solves the problem

other question.

Akeeba Backup may not work as expected

Akeeba Backup detected the following potential problems:

Temp directory is the same as the site root

which is the correct backuppath? [SITETMP]?

thx for help
regards marc

Marc,

The location of the temp directory is a very big deal because that directory is not included in the backup. If it is pointed to the root, then no files are included in your backup. That seems to be at odds with other information.

Please check the temp directory setting in the Joomla Global Settings screen.
