#31231 – Akeeba Kickstart versioning

While downloading the Kickstart Professional update, I noticed what appears to be a versioning regression to v4.0.0 superseding the previous version 6.0.1. And it's all the more confusing because Kickstart Standard remains at v6.0.1.

I sought to find some explanation for the change in the release notes but could not find one. If there was other notice of the version numbering change, I must have missed it and would greatly appreciate it if you could validate the authenticity of the new version number. I just want to be sure that I'm downloading the correct of version of Kickstart Professional.

I'm getting version 6.0.1 when downloading both the Core and Pro versions of Kickstart. Where are you seeing the 4.x version?

You are absolutely right, Dale. The download page now shows the same version number (6.0.1) for both the Core and Pro editions of Kickstart. That certainly wasn't the case when I opened this ticket after downloading kickstart-pro-4.0.0.zip at 2:52 PM (US-CST) yesterday.

I can assure you I wasn't hallucinating; and if it helps any forensic hash trace you may wish to undertake, I've attached the actual kickstart-pro-4.0.0.zip I downloaded.

There may have been some website maintenance going on yesterday. It is possible that something was changed momentarily that shouldn't have been. You just happened to download at that moment. Thank you for the heads up!
