Description of my issue:
Hi!
I am going through the process of reading the Admin Tools guide and apply the things that are mentioned. I would like to change the database table prefix, but I do not know how to make the configuration.php writable. Would it be possible to explain to me how that can be done ?

I have looked into your search engine and found no similar issue, I also went in the joomla forum but no luck there either (the only ones I found were not understandable).

I also tried the FTP option but I do not understand why that did not work either.

Thanks for your help,
Karine

Hi Karine,

as a very temporary solution, you can change configuration.php permissions to 777, do the changes that you want to do and then revert it to the previous value.
Please keep in mind that 777 is named "The Number of The Beast", because it will open a very huge security issue in your site: so change it as soon as possible when you finished your work.
