PHP version: 5.3.26
MySQL version: 5.5.32
Host: Heart Internet
Admin Tools version: 2.5.6

Description of my issue:
Hi Nicholas. In Admin Tools .htaccess maker I have set 'Automatically compress static resources' to 'Yes'. This has added the required code into my htaccess file (I have looked and it's there).
The problem is that when I use Google's PageSpeed tool at http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ I get the recommendation that I should enable compression (see screenshot). I have checked with the compression test available at http://www.whatsmyip.org/http-compression-test/ which says that the site is gzipped.
If this is something separate from Admin Tools or something that you can't help with then I totally understand. I am just at a loss as to what is going on really.
Thank you,
David

Hello David,

The option in .htaccess only compresses static resources such as images, Javascript and CSS files. It does not compress dynamically generated files such as your site's HTML content (generated by Joomla!) or any dynamically generated Javascript or CSS. In order to compress your HTML content you have to enable GZip compression in your site's Global Configuration. If you have questions about that please refer to Joomla!'s documentation and/or the Joomla! community forums.
