Dear friend, I used admintools self-update tool to update to 2.5.10, as suggested. I got no errors. Then I updated akeeba backup as well, with no errors. But admin tools is not more present in the components list, and I cannot use it.
Then I tried to re-install the component after downloaded it from you website. The reinstallation failed with an error.

Which went wrong ? Many thanks in advance

dlb
The reinstall is the normal way to fix the initial problem. What error did you get when you tried to install again? You should not uninstall the component, that will lose all your settings.

SOLVED ! thank you. I tried once more to reinstall, this time using IE11 (Yesterday I used FF 25 and got an error), and reinstallation went well.

I am glad you got it working!
