i cannot seem to load a certain set of images to a folder in media manager without only 4 of the 23 working! the rest just don't display.

i am using artsexylightbox pop up plugin

i have tried renaming the images and loading via ftp control panel and via media manager! client not happy and i am at a loss!

any suggestions please?

is it possible that the images are simply corrupt?

i tried to load the images while the original htaccess file was there and it worked fine.

then i reloaded the admin tools htaccess and it went wierd again!
Do I need to add an exception to the HTACCESS maker. what and where please?

Steve

dlb
Yes, you need an exception added to .htaccess Maker. I can't really tell you exactly what needs to be added, that takes a little trial and error to figure out. The instructions are here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/athtaccessexceptions.html.

ok i did it and get this when i click on the link in the panel

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.mapon this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Founderror was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

does that mean i add
/media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2?

dlb
That is correct. You would need the full path to the folder, "/media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.mapon". That will allow access to all files within that folder.

/media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.mapon

to all 3 of the Exceptions areas..

but no change.
you can see here please http://www.ldlplastering.co.uk/index.php/gallery half way down the page there are images not loading.

what have I done wrong please?

brintop99
ok i tried adding to all 3 areas but no joy. i have left it with

/media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.mapon

added in
Allow direct access to these files
administrator/components/com_akeeba/restore.php
administrator/components/com_admintools/restore.
php administrator/components/com_joomlaupdate/restore.php
/media/jui/js/jquery-1.10.2.min.mapon

still no joy unless it is a cache problem my end?

brintop99
just tried adding
/images/my_nnccee/b.JPG
/images/thumb_nnccee/b.JPG

to the list but NO change!

dlb
Steve,

All of these are showing 403 errors on the thumbnail, please check the file permissions in http://www.ldlplastering.co.uk/images/thumb_nnccee/.

sorry but how do i do that?
thanks

dlb
Sorry, you can check permissions through your FTP client, right click on the file and select Properties in most clients. What you see then varies from one FTP client to another. You can compare the working images to the non-working ones. They should have a number of 755 or 644 if the permission is expressed as a number. We can fix them through Admin Tools if we find they are wrong.

all he folders are 755 and the images are ALL 644 both for the working and non working!

dlb
  1. I noticed something from a couple of posts back. When you are adding exceptions to Admin Tools, the three default exceptions do not have leading slashes, but you did add leading slashes to the two /images and one /media exception that you added. Let's try it without the leading slashes. I don't think it should make a difference there but...
  2. When you are checking the permissions, the problem is in the thumbnail folder, not the actual image folder, that's the one you're checking right? :-)
