 Hi there,

I have got a couple of questions regarding virtual domains vs some configurations.

1- Since I cannot use admin tools .htaccess maker, can I modify the .htaccess manually? What features I can add to my .htaccess so that it does not break the virtual domain functionality.
I am looking for something like latest malware protection codes etc.. which will not have any effect to virtual domains.

2- Once the virtual domains are created.will the search engines only index the virtual domain pages? Because it is running under a single j installation, I am afraid that the sites may get mixed up and I end up site x content appearing on site y or vice versa.

3- How will the 2step verification work?

Lets say I have got an user enabled his/her verification using the domain myspecialsite.com.au
He will have the authentication [email protected]

He visits the other virtual domain site (running pretty much under the site myspecialsite.com.au), will he be able to use his same verification code or he needs to enable 2step verification again.

The login details are the same.

It would be better to have a separate login detail for each site but since this is a single j installation, I am not sure how this is going to turn out.

Thank you.

4- CDN Setup: How should I set up cdn for these domains? If I install a plugin like this one, Do you think it would do the job?

I will need to register those domains in Amazons CDN manager as well.
Since I only get to place 1 api code, how will I be able to place api codes for other virtual domains?
Thank you.

1. The .htaccess Maker is merely a graphical front-end to my Master .htaccess. You can read it, it's heavily commented, and decide what you can use from it.

2. I have no idea what "virtual domain" refers to in the context you are using it. I suppose it's one J installation responding with a different menu depending on the domain name used in the URL. In this case search engines should index all virtual sites, but I'd suggest asking the developer of the product you are using to handle virtual domains.

3. Two Factor Authentication (TFA) is not bound to the domain name. As long as you have one J installation, no matter which virtual domain you try to log in, you will need to present your TFA secret code. Please remember that a user on one virtual domain will exist in all virtual domains as you have one Joomla! installation. You can't have different login details per site. The login details (username, password, email, full name and TFA setup) are defined per Joomla! installation. Please ask the developer of the product you are using to handle virtual domains to be sure.

4. Please ask the developer of the product you are using to handle virtual domains.
