 I installed a clean instance of Joomla in the root folder of a new hosting account at Bluehost. After installing Admin Tools Pro and using the .htaccess builder I started getting 403 errors when trying to access the subdomains located within the root folder.

Is there a way to address this or a permission I need to change to make those folder accessible?

If you have an .htaccess file in the root folder for a site installed there, the subdomains in the folders under it inherit the commands from the root .htaccess. Since some of those commands include a path, and the path is not correct for the subdomains, that can cause problems.

You may need to move your site in the root to a subfolder so all three are "siblings" instead of the root folder being a "parent". If the site folders are set up as siblings, the .htaccess commands will not inherit from one to another.
