Hello,
I searched the ticket tickets and the Admin tools doc but I couldn't find an answer to my question.

With Joomla 3.2.2, do you recommend using the native two way authenticator, or the one build in Admin Tools?

If I choose the Admin Tools' authenticator system, i can always delete/modify via FTP the files if I loose or forget my device.

If I'd choose the native one, is that also possible? Also, is it possible the whitelist an IP adress with the Joomla Native One?

Thanks in advance for your explanations,

Sébastien

With Joomla! 3.2.2 I recommend using the native Two Factor Authentication. I have contributed that feature to Joomla! so you know it comes with the guarantee that the code was written by someone who Knows What He's Doing™ ;)

As to what happens if you lose your TFA code, you have two options:
  • Use the one-time emergency passwords. There are ten of them listed on your user profile page.
  • Rename the folder under plugins/twofactorauth containing your enabled TFA method. This actually holds true for all Joomla! plugins: once you rename their folder Joomla! can't load them.

If I'd choose the native one, is that also possible? Also, is it possible the whitelist an IP adress with the Joomla Native One?

Nope. You will always have to enter your TFA secret code. This is actually a good idea for many reasons.
