Hi !

I hope everything is doing all good on your side of the World.

I have an issue with AdminTool.
Not a huge one though, but still.

I moved my site from OVH to SiteGround (on your advices by the way). I'm very very happy about it. Speed, tools, support... Everyhting rocks.

But there's one thing that is not working the way it was: .htaccessmaker
And the thing is: I love this one ! So easy.

What's going on ? If I make change in the tool, then click to save and generate the new file, the normal message appears 'the new file has been created on the disk' BUT... that's actually not true... The changes made in the tools can not be seen in the file...

Have you heard about this already ? What should I try ? It is an Apache server apparently, so it should work. Could this be due to the fact that SiteGround stores things in the folder public_html and only get an alias for the folder 'www' ???

Any idea?

Many thanks in advance,
Kind regards,

Dominique

Hello Morel,

please manually remove the old .htaccess file and check that the public_html folder has 0755 permissions.
If you have enabled the FTP layer you must disable it, you don't need it under SiteGround account.
Moreover, to be sure that everything is ok, please use Admin Tools to give folders permission 0755 and files 0644.

Hello,

All right, it looks like it did the trick (folder permission was not 755 but 750). It's working now.
Many thanks,

Best
