Dear akeeba,

I absolutely love your products. But Im having issues with my users after they login to the site. This started right after I installed Admintools.

When people login they get a blank screen and when they reload the page it then says 'invalid token'. When you retype the domain it goes back to normal but now you are logged in.

So far I read one ticket that had similiar issues and I tried what Nicolas recommended - "You have to turn off the "Redirect index.php to site's root" in the .htaccess Maker page and regenerate your .htaccess files " and still nothing happens. I even used the my old .htaccess, restarted my web server and still have the same issue.

My login page is NOT being redirected to any other pages, Im simply using Joomla with no customizations. Also I just noticed mycrypt (?) is not installed on my server - not sure if this matters.

Can you recommend any solutions for this?

If you have already tried the .htaccess switchover the problem you are experiencing has to do with session management, cookies or the Do Not Track feature of your visitors' browsers. The "Invalid token" message appears when Joomla! can't find the user's session after they log in. The only thing in Admin Tools that can possibly interfere is the "Enable Session Optimiser" option in the System - Admin Tools plugin. By default it's set to No and doesn't interfere. If you have turned it on, please set it back to No by editing the System - Admin Tools plugin.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried what you recommended but it turns out I dont have plg_admintools installed. See screenshot - Im not sure if this was something I was supposed to install separately (?).

So far I tried the following:

- used my old .htaccess and renamed the one created by AdminTools (no success)
- Disabled "Do Not Track" in Chrome and Firefox (no success)
- "Redirect index to root" set to No (no success)
- Optimized session tables (no success)
- restarted httpd after every .htaccess change.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

I never said "plg_admintools" anywhere, did I? I said "System - Admin Tools" and as you can see in the lower half of your screenshot it is installed. I was very specific to prevent you from getting confused :) Please click on the "System - Admin Tools" and follow my instructions in my previous reply.

Hi Nicholas,

Thanks. It looks like "Enable Session Optimizer" was already set to No. I tried setting to yes to experiment and I still got the same result. Its set to No again.

I can't think of anything else which could interfere with the token... Just to make sure: can you consistently reproduce this issue on your site? If yes, does disabling the System - Admin Tools plugin make any difference?
